We’ve been in Fort Morgan for the last few days with my family. We go every year right after school gets out and this year was no different. We spend 5 days playing at the beach, swimming in the pool, drinking pina coladas, playing cards, goofy golfing, riding go-carts, and eating. It’s what we do. We are good at it.
Christian has been a water baby from birth. He was swimming at 2 years old and hasn’t stopped since. He is completely fearless in the water. Jackson screamed his head off the first time we brought him to the beach. Hated it. He was terrified of the waves, and definitely was having none of this swimming business. It’s so funny. They look so much alike, but they are so different. Every year, he’s warmed up to it just a little more. A couple years ago, we had to force him to touch sand. It was ugly. Last year, he would go, but wanted to go up to the room after 30 minutes. This year, we brought him over to our side. He wanted to stay at the beach a few hours, and go to the pool for the rest of the day. He still can’t swim, and holds on for dear life in the ocean, but he’ll go under, and the world does not end. He’s actually proud of himself for doing it and after awhile, wants to do it again. I guess my boys have a little more in common than I thought!
