We got the invitation for awards this year, and as always, we never know what he’s going to get. The competition in Ocean Springs is fierce. I mean, I know his grades are stupid awesome, but sometimes a 100 isn’t the best grade anymore, crazy, right? When we asked him what he expected, he said I don’t know, maybe ICT and Principals list. Well, in typical Taylor kid form, he underestimated himself. He sat with us instead of the kids, so there were some adults at the end of our row. When they started handing out awards, they kept calling his name. Even Coach Smith asked him if his legs were tired from walking up there. Finally after a few awards, they announced a new category, and the lady beside him leaned over and asked, “Are you good at Science, too?” Jackson just gave her a little smile and look, like well, yeah, kinda. The paper awards were for academic excellence in a subject, the trophies were for highest averages. My baby killed it. He ended up with awards in French, Computers, Honors Social Studies, and Algebra, his trophies were for Computers, French and Algebra. He liked the French one the best.As always, we are so proud, and so very impressed. Congratulations, Jackson! I plan to brag on you all summer.High School, get ready, here he comes!
