Christian desperately wants a big brother. He isn’t picky, he’d take a big sister, but a big brother would be ideal. He’s ready to start the adoption proceedings immediately. He doesn’t want to get rid of Jackson, just add another older sibling. Personally, I think he just wants someone to take the pressure off him. He wants someone to follow around rather than be the one being followed for a change. If Christian stops, Jackson bumps into him. I try to school him on the perks of being the oldest, but he’s not buying it. Being first isn’t always best. There is always someone just a step behind you, watching every move you make and trying to mimic it. Every once in awhile, Jackson will be running after Christian trying to do whatever it is he is doing at the moment and Christian will look over at him and smile and glance my way. For just a moment, I know he doesn’t really mind all that much, and he realizes how cool it is to have someone look up to you that much. He may roll his eyes afterward, but it’s too late. I’ve already seen the smile and I know. I know he’s going to be just fine carrying around the title “big brother” and doesn’t need anyone else to take it over.
P.S. Please continue praying for our little friend Emma. Thank you!
