How can a day that starts like this, not be a good day? Christian gets up every morning at 6:15 to get ready for school. I am not a morning person, never have been, never will be, but I do get up with him every morning to help him get ready. Scott, being our resident morning person, eats breakfast with Christian, fixes his lunch and takes him to school on our days to drive, but getting him ready is NOT his thing. If I want his clothes to match or his hair to not stick up in odd directions, then I will have to continue this whole early rising thing, well, at least until summer. This morning when I was dragging my lazy ass out of the bed I noticed the sun was coming up. Now while I’m completely opposed to being awake while the sun is rising, I have to admit, it sure was pretty. It was almost worth being awake at that godforsaken hour, ALMOST!
My morning job is getting Jackson ready and taking him to preschool. It’s a job I’m probably better at and more suited for. He gets up at 7:30, which is almost tolerable. I can actually skip make-up and wear pajama pants for the entire process. I LOVE that part. Today was a little different. Today was our Mother’s Day Tea, which required hair washing, make-up and getting dressed. Normally, I’d complain about all that, but oh, how sweet my little man was. He pulled out my chair for me, served my snacks and made me all sorts of gifts. It was definitely worth the getting ready part. One of the other mom’s was nice enough to snap a pic of us at the party. Thanks little man for being so sweet. I loved it. I’ll wash my hair for you anytime.
