The second day we were at the beach we were going into town to eat at Lulu’s. Shortly before we were supposed to leave my mom called and said there was an awful storm and not to come yet. The parking lots were flooding and there was hail beating on their car. We stuck around at the condo and waited on the storm. I took pictures, the boys blew bubbles, the adults made boat drinks, and we waited some more. The skies got dark, the wind started to blow, and a few drops fell. It was a little exciting. I love being inside all snuggled up on the couch during bad weather. In this case we were hanging off a balcony 15 stories high with wind whipping all around us. It was equally satisfying. All the people still on the beach gathered everything they could and ran like hell for cover. Too many people on such a small bridge made for slow going. We know, we were watching with our binoculars. The bottle-neck caused quite the back up.
After awhile, the clouds started to clear and the wind died down. We didn’t see any hail. What a let-down. Not really. We stayed home, ate sandwiches, drank boat-drinks and played Cadillac all night long. Don’t Joey and Katie look cute?? This is right before my 8 year old beat Joey’s socks off in Cadillac. Okay, he pretty much beat all our socks off. Mess with the bull, man, well, you know the rest…
