Spring Break Surf Fail

We had a late Spring Break this year and I have plenty of pictures to share, it’s just something about spring that makes me check out and think that the school year is over. Christian hasn’t surfed since early last summer. Waves were non-existent, so we never brought the board. We passed by the beach one day and saw the waves were pretty good and he decided to brave the cold water. The waves were a little smaller the next day, a great size for beginners, but their timing sucked. It was hard to get out to where he needed to be and they came so fast, one right after another, that it was hard to catch one.Christian can stand up when there are no waves, so that wasn’t really a problem, but getting there proved difficult. When he did catch one, it ended up being a dud, and he’d get crushed by the good one behind it. They seemed to roll over too quick or something, if that makes any sense.
A few times he would just come collapse on the sand like he was done, then head back out a minute later to try again. So, it wasn’t quite the success he had planned, but I bet he slept like a champ that night! I’m sure he’ll get another shot at it before too long.
