You never know what your kids will like. You can steer them towards things, but there is no guarantee they will love it. Jackson has been around baseball since before birth, I was pregnant with him when Christian played Y-Ball, but I knew that didn’t mean a thing. Honestly, I think he wanted to play because his big brother did. I saw the big silly grins he’d get on his face when he would swing the bat out in the front yard, but nothing could prepare me for how MUCH this kid would love playing baseball. He loves the cleats, he loves the hat, he loves the pants, he loves the glove, he loves hitting the ball, he loves running the bases, he loves catching the ball, and he absolutely LOVES shaking hands after the game. He is truly pissed that his season is already over. I was afraid he would cry when he found out this was their last game, but he only pouted about it for a while.Christian wasn’t able to be at all the games because their schedules sometimes wouldn’t allow it, but the games he made, he was a great assistant coach and a big help to his dad. Jackson has a few trophies from Christian’s tournament team days. They always seemed to have an extra for him. This one is different, this one is all him! We’ll just add the trophy to the list of things my baby loves about baseball. He’s already asking when football starts and wondering if next year he can be on Christian’s baseball team. Slow down, man. Let’s enjoy your first trophy for a minute!
