Snakes and All

20080714_4697 There are so many cool things about where we live. We are in South Mississippi, on a bayou, and although we are in a subdivision, it’s somewhat out and undeveloped. We see all kinds of animals at our house. We have deer that come and eat corn in our backyard if the raccoons haven’t gotten to it first. Rabbits are always hopping around here and there. How can I forget the gators that live in the bayou and watch us fish at night. Yesterday Lulu brought me a turtle, which, I quickly took away from her. I’m pretty sure I saved it from being loved to death. We really enjoy it, ALL of it. Most people wouldn’t enjoy finding a snake, even a small one, on their back porch. We do. We had to check and make sure it wasn’t a poisonous scary snake. When I say we, I don’t actually mean me, because I have no idea. I just take the pictures around here. Luckily it wasn’t poisonous, and it lived to fight another day. Christian was so upset that we didn’t wake him up to see it. The sad thing is, I actually considered it. I decided not to since I knew how late he had been up the night before. The odds were greater that he’d get to see another snake in the near future than the odds were of him, or the rest of us, surviving the day if he only had 6 hours of sleep. I still stand by my decision. Go and be free little snake. Next time come a little later so Christian can see you. Thanks. Be careful. Come back and see us. Love you. Bye.20080714_4706
