I really shouldn’t find this funny, I know that. I should be appalled that my 4 year-old may require some anger management classes in the near future. Something about the fact that he is either progressing as expected or has mastered everything on the list only half-way through his last year of preschool EXCEPT expressing frustration or anger appropriately is just so damn true!!!! If he gets upset for any reason, he just completely locks up, crosses his arms, juts that jaw, pouts that lip and gives his mean face. I just realized as I was typing that out that, and I can’t believe I’m going to admit this, but, I do the same exact thing except crossing my arms. If he, and same goes for me, is really super mad about something, tears will fall. So down there, on the bottom of the form, where his teacher says that he is a phenomenal little boy, which he is, and he functions well in most situations, which he does, she left out the last part. What she should have said was, “He functions well in most situations, except those where someone or something truly pisses him off, then all bets are off.”
And make no mistake, you are going to hear about it.
