Deebo is still a puppy. He’s young, he’s interested, he’s energetic…Fergie calls bullshit.

In honor of all this prom talk, let’s flashback to what I believe to be Scott’s senior prom. And no he didn’t take his mom. And yes, Mammaw is a total hottie! And how much does Scott look like Jackson????? Why don’t the boys and I have any formal photos of us dressed in all white under a wedding/prom arch, because this, my friends, is priceless!
Jackson decided that he wasn’t going to prom this year, just didn’t buy tickets or think about it at all until after the deadline had passed. I knew it, but forgot that last weekend was the actual day of prom. When he said he had plans with friends and was wearing khakis, it still didn’t occur to me that this was his version of Junior Prom. You know if it had, I would have begged to take some casual photos to commemorate the non-event. They had a group of about 10 or so that went to a nice dinner, then were going bowling. The bowling alley was too crowded, so they went to Academy instead and got wiffle balls and a bat and headed to the beach to play baseball. They hung out there all night, then made a Sonic run on the way home. By the time I realized that it was his prom, the photo-op ship had sailed. The next morning, one of the other moms sent me this pic with the sweetest text about how she had to beg for a picture from her son, and was checking to see if Jackson had shared it with me. He didn’t have a single picture, so no, he didn’t even have a pic of just the guys to share. So, maybe I don’t have any posed pics of kids in fancy duds this year, but I assure you, he probably had way more fun skipping that drama and opting for a sandy game of wiffle ball instead.
We went on one of our girls painting trips last week. I took two pictures with my iPhone to send to Scott, and this is them. In the past, I’d finish a painting or two on these trips. I didn’t even get half of one done this time. We still do a lot of painting, eating, and tv binging, but I must be way slower these days. Or maybe I just lean more towards the eating and binging. I spend most of my time trying to find something I’m excited to paint. Notice Mom and Dad watching a little tv in the background. We drug him along on our trip this time. He seemed to adjust to our laid back schedule just fine.
Now that the kids are older and busier, and Fergie is elderly and her give a shit factor is low, Deebo has happily allowed the focus to be shifted to him. Honestly, if it’s not about him, he’s bored. A huge percentage of future blog posts will be centered around him. Everyone seems happy with the arrangement.
