Flashing back to the 70’s to my grandma’s house. When I was sick, my mom would take me to grandmas while she had to work. I was really into art and crafty stuff, so grandma would put me in the guest bedroom and bring in this white tray with brand new colors, markers and paper in the sides. Sometimes there was new clay, or coloring books. I never knew what it would be, but I always knew it would be awesome. She brought my lunch and breakfast on the tray, and when I fell asleep, it would disappear, usually coming back when I woke up ready to draw, write, or craft. Everything about that tray reminds me of her taking care of me and making me feel really special, not that I realized it at the time. Grandma was always very impressed with everything I did, and would try to take pictures of my creations. She never could quite get them in focus, but that’s me up there creating on my tray. I really loved that thing. Flash-forward to current day. I follow a local antique store on Facebook, and I saw a magical tray advertised for sale. It had been painted, but it looked just like mine. I messaged them from out of town immediately. When we made it home, I went over to pick it up. I put it on the daybed in our bedroom and every time I see it I think of my grandma, and I kind of want to draw something..jpg)

I should have taken photos of the crazy amounts of good food we had, but I did manage the Dulce de Leche cake he requested as his birthday cake. It was Egg Bowl day, and the Saints played, so we represented!.jpg)

Told you there were a lot. You are welcome. The end.
Christmas card photos were relatively painless this year, and that always means I will love the end result. I did. I really did..jpg)

It’s always so nice to have them both under the same roof. We sleep better, I just know it! And they are endless entertainment!.jpg)
We also have some super sweet neighbors that are the cutest. Deebo follows them around everywhere..jpg)
So, how have I lived here this long, and never been to Twelve Oaks? I have now, and I will definitely go back. Also, look how pretty the boat launch is at the Gulf Island National Seashore! Honestly, I think that is where we were. I’ll have to ask Scott..jpg)
