iPhone Moving Day

Here are a few behind the scenes snaps from the move. It wasn’t an entirely smooth start. It was raining like crazy, and we had to wait it out in the clubhouse hoping it would ease up before unloading the Uhaul. Jackson put his Rust videos on the tv, and rested on their couch while he waited.

Once all the heavy lifting was done, and the Popeye’s consumed, Scott and Jackson headed back to Mississippi. It was my time to shine. I’m really good at finding spots for things…and I am an expert at Target trips.
Christian was even approached by some TikTokers that gave him money to help him pay for his Target haul. We celebrated at an awesome Mexican restaurant down the street. That mango margarita was worth the visit alone. He used that engineering degree for good, and then we headed back to Mississippi. We still had to to get Jackson ready to move up to Oxford and Christian had to tie up some loose ends. They both wanted to soak up a little more summer before the real world called.

Movin’ on Up

So, Christian got a post graduate internship in Pensacola and he only had a few weeks to find a place and get situated before he had to leave for orientation. We drove over a week before this to help him find a place and got a move-in date. On the way to move into his new place, we saw a rainbow. Deer and rainbows are always good signs for me, so I knew he had the right place.I really think he will love downtown Pensacola. After a couple days, he had the basics. He still needs a few more things, but as Scott always says, it’s a process, not an event.I love his new place, and I think he will settle in nicely!Congratulations, baby! Kill it!

Flashback Friday

So, I’m only flashing back to 2018 and 19, and only because I cleaned off my bulletin board. The first is Christian’s orientation at Ole Miss, and the next two are Jackson’s freshman and sophomore Homecoming. I guess I never scanned them, I just put them straight up on the board. Time sure flies!

Mississippi Kite

So, before this day, had I ever heard of a Mississippi Kite? No, no I don’t think I had, but I was slightly obsessed with this one. He landed in our neighbor’s yard with some lunch, and allowed me to take pictures of him for hours. He, or she, then flew even closer so I could get a better view. The mockingbird community is up in arms.

Another Sweet Stray

How do we always end up with the sweetest stray dogs at our house you might wonder, and the answer is usually Christian, but this time it was Scott…well, and Christian. Scott called and said there was a stray down at the gate and NOT to go get it, so Christian convinced me we had to. Of course, Scott knew when he told us that the pup was going to be at our house when he made it back. He was dirty and had gotten into something sticky, so he got a bath and a few mats cut out, and look how handsome! He was the sweetest puppy. Unfortunately, Deebo is just a weirdo when it comes to boy dogs, so we couldn’t even bring him inside. If he was outside playing with the neighborhood dogs, Deebo just sat off to the side and wouldn’t play.  We had to take him to the shelter, which I hate to tell you, involved a few tears. Luckily, he found a home immediately. As always, he will be missed! Except by Deebo. Deebo said f$ck that dog.
