Our Last Pecan Field Day

I’m not a big fan of the way they have changed Field Day. No longer are parents allowed to come down and be a part of it, instead we are stuck up in the bleachers watching. And if you go down there to check your kid out after it’s over, but still a little too early, the teacher will not hesitate to send you back into the bleachers to wait approximately 45 seconds before you turn around and follow a few other parents out there and try it again. None of that kept us from cheering Jackson on as he kicked soccer balls, balanced tennis balls, jumped rope, or 3-legged raced his way through the day.The kids race within their class to find out the few who will be in the bigger races. Jackson got to participate in the 50 yard dash. He came in 4th out of 6. Not too shabby, considering you have to be pretty darn fast to qualify for the big races. He had an afternoon full of running around a football field and checked-out early, that’s a good day no matter how you look at it!
