Mystery in a Bag

20081029_3358School projects drive me nuts. They drove me nuts when I was in school and they drive me nuts now. I was always the kid that turned hers in at least a day late, and stayed up all night to get it done then. I was willing to get the 10 points taken off just to put it off one more day. Go figure. I do NOT want my kids to be like that. I’m hoping for a little change.
20081029_3531Christian has a book report due Friday, and then a big reading project due at the beginning of December. The first one is called Mystery in a Bag. They read a mystery, write a paper, get a bunch of things that relate to the story, put them in a paper bag, and decorate the bag. They get up in front of the class Friday and tell about the story and the things in the bag. Not so bad. Christian read his book this weekend and finished his report tonight. There’s a little change for the better. I just hope he doesn’t freak smooth out when he has to stand up in front of the class like his Mom did. If he could get through it without hyperventilating or forgetting the entire story, then THAT would be some serious change.
