Great News!

20080628_2500cFirst, let me say, I didn’t take this picture. My mom did. She won’t mind if I use it, though, will you Mom? Okay, that’s out of the way. On to the good stuff. I got the coolest call yesterday while we were washing our cars. My nephew, Joey, and his wife, Katie, are going to have a baby. I’m only a little freaked out that my nephew, who, by the way, is only 9 years younger than me, is old enough to be married and having kids. It only confirms what I’ve suspected all along, I am getting old. Oh well, who cares, there’s going to be a BABY!!!! I immediately squealed when I heard the news, shed a couple tears, then went on to tell my boys that Joey was going to have a baby. Everyone was so excited. We went on with our day, washing cars and dogs and such with a little more happiness than we had before. Later that evening, Jackson and I were downstairs, just hanging out, and out of nowhere he just started squalling. At first I thought he was kidding, but finally realized, it was not a drill. He was really freaking out. When I got him calmed down enough to answer me in a voice that I could understand, I asked him what was wrong. Tears streaming, and in the whiniest voice he has, he said, “I don’t want to have a baby!” I calmly replied in my best don’t freak out voice, “You don’t? Well, that’s okay, Mommy isn’t going to have a baby, so we’re all good.” I talk in run-on sentences. It drives everyone around me nuts. ANYWAY, he got all mad again and still crying, he said, “No, I don’t want to have a baby in my bellyyyyyyyyyyyy!” After I explained that this was not possible, and he never had to worry about it again, EVER, I realized, I guess I should have explained more carefully. Joey AND Katie are having a baby. Oh, and it’s going to be in Katie’s belly, in case you needed that clarified. Glad I could help! Congratulations guys! We are so excited for you. We love you.
