Gobbles and a Smile

Phi_0037 When Christian started swimming at the very early age of two, I was surprised, to say the least. What freak of nature swims at two?? My son, who spent that entire summer in the pool, everyday from 9 in the morning until 2 or 3 in the afternoon, only breaking for lunch, that’s who. Did I mention Scott used to teach swimming lessons? Well, he did. Oh, the naps Christian took that summer… I smile just thinking of them. The picture above was taken early that summer in Destin with a disposable underwater camera. It’s one of our favorites. Christian had on what he called his “crab-gobbles” and a huge smile. Jackson started swimming this summer at what I still consider the early age of three, almost four. The crab-gobbles are long gone, but we have found some frog-gobbles that are just as loved. I couldn’t let this summer go by without an underwater camera to document this milestone. They both swim with a smile, and this is not just a posing for the picture thing. My guess is it’s hereditary. I’m betting Scott and I both do it, too.
