Anyone wondering where I’ve been? No? That’s okay, I’ll tell you anyway. Every year, the 4th graders go on a field trip to Jackson. Christian has been looking forward to it all year. We had to get up at 3:50 a.m… yes, I said a.m. If you know me, you know that 3:50 a.m. is only okay if I’ve stayed up that late, and definitely NOT an okay time to set my alarm. We loaded the tour bus at 5:00 a.m. I was one of the chaperones, so I loaded the bus, too. We started at the Manship House, then on to the Capitol Building, then the Planetarium. We ate lunch at the park by the Science Museum and froze our butts off while the kids played on the playground. We went to the Science Museum and the Agriculture Museum. Finally, we ended up at Barnhill’s for a buffet supper. I can only imagine what the other customers thought when three tour buses full of 4th graders unloaded and swarmed the buffet. We drove home in the rain and made it back to the school at 9:45 p.m… yes, I said p.m! I didn’t lose any of the kids I was in charge of, and Christian deemed it the best field trip E-VAH! I loved hanging out with Christian all day, and being a part of the madness, but I will say, it was the longest day of my life. I plan on spending the rest of the weekend recovering. Considering Christian slept until 10:00 this morning and lazed about most of the day, I’m not the only one.
