If you don’t want to hear me bragging, well… then why the hell would you come to my blog???? Moving along. Everyone know that my kids intentionally drive me nuts as often as possible, with gusto, but the one day I can always count on them to make me crazy proud is Awards Day! It only goes through Middle School, so Jackson is still a contender. He did it again this year. They just kept calling my baby’s name. We decided to opt out of the last day of school, so after the awards ceremony we went around telling his teachers good-bye and giving them their end of the year presents. Ms. Butirich is so sweet. Ms. Baggett will be missed, and I think she is going to miss Jack Smack as well. She totally made me tear up. Awards day usually gets me all happy-teary anyway, so this just put me over the edge.
Last, but certainly not least, we had to say good-bye to his homeroom teacher, Ms. Herbert. We love her!As always, Jackson had the best group of teachers. We are going to miss all these ladies so much. I forced these two to take a picture on their last day of elementary school. I have pictures of them together since they were babies. They were mortified that I insisted on one more. Sidney beat him by a point to take home the Social Studies award. Go Sid!!
I guess this is it for the Upper Elementary.
Jackson’s got the highest average award in both Science and Math, Principal’s List for the year, and the Citizenship Award. I was watching a movie the other day where the mom said something like that she always prayed for God to make her smarter, make her stronger, make her better and she finally got an answer. It was her daughter. Well, I got my answers, too. My boys are better, stronger, and oh so much smarter. I didn’t really need an Awards Day to tell me that, but I’ll take it just the same. Congratulations Jackson! You are as good as you are smart, and we are so very proud. Middle School, here we come!
