Advent

Mawmaw & PawPaw had an Advent celebration planned for the boys this year. Hunting kept re-arranging the schedule. We were finally able to have it last night. We read the Christmas Story and talked a lot about it and the wisemen so Jackson would be clear on his part in the Christmas play. Christian got to light the candles at the beginning which made me just a little nervous. Something about boys and fire will do that to you. He had a little trouble getting the match lit, but he did it. They had a fun art project to do at the end involving colors, glue, jewels, sequins and stickers. We even got gifts. Jackson’s job was to put out the candles.

He slammed the candle snuffer down as hard as he could onto the candle. He had never had this job before. It’s doubtful he will ever have it again.

Mom said she wanted me to do the next one, but I’m not sure exactly what to do. I’m a MUCH better observer. How can it get any better than being allowed read a story, do an art project, get a gift, and handle fire?
