Math Genius?

I’m an English major, shocking I know, with all these run-on sentences and extra commas bouncing around. I know the grammar rules, I just choose not to follow them. The main reason I am an English major is because it required the least amount of math. I’m only partly kidding. Math is not my subject, so imagine my surprise when Jack Jack started spouting off numbers that caused me to go get my calculator and check his figures. Jackson goes to bed at 7:30 on school nights. He always asks me what time it is to see how many minutes he has left. Then he announces how many minutes ’til bedtime. I didn’t pay much attention, but this week I’ve noticed, he is always right! I tell him it’s 6:43, he says, “47 minutes ’til bedtime!” I tell him it’s 7:18, he says, “12 minutes ’til bedtime!” He barely pauses before he blurts out this amazing stuff. He’s been doing great with kindergarten math, but this isn’t kindergarten math, is it? I swear, I think he’s a genius. Is it bad that my 5 year old has surpassed my math skills? Don’t even get me started on my 4th grader! He left me in the dust years ago.
