There is nothing in the school year that can top the last day before Christmas vacation, except maybe the last day of school. Since it’s not quite summer vacation I’ll try to focus on the here and now. There are always parties, gifts, good food, parents in the classrooms and early check-outs. The 4th grade classes had breakfast in the cafeteria at 8:30, which turned out great. I cooked the entire day before, and Scott cooked bacon all morning. We somehow got everything there on time. As Christian’s classroom mom, God help us all, I organized our class, so I figured it could go to crap any second. I was pleasantly surprised when everything went just as planned. Had to get a shot of Christian with his buddy, and his Dad.Jackson’s class had their brunch in their classroom at 9:45. We finished cleaning the cafeteria just in time. We hung out with Jackson and his friends and teachers for a bit, Jackson picked at his food for fifteen minutes or so, I took a few pictures, and he was ready to go. Early check-outs all around. I feel so wrong for being relieved that all the fun is over, but I just can’t wait to sit on my butt for a couple hours. Why is it I don’t see that in my future?
