Every day, for the five days the kids were out of school, I suggested we go bowling. Four days they found something better to do, but on the fifth day, they finally gave in. I wanted to do something we could all do and enjoy. Doesn’t everyone love bowling? Aren’t all kids over the moon when both of their parents take them to the bowling alley in the middle of the afternoon on a weekday in February? You would think so.Christian complained an awful lot about how much he sucked, like the rest of us were filling out our Professional Bowlers’ Tour membership cards while he was waiting on his ball or something. Do they have a tour? I have no idea how that works. Anyway, after we finished, the boys played a couple video games, argued just a tad, and tried to win something out of the machines. Jackson got all bent out of shape when he couldn’t manage to get the clamp around some ugly little stuffed animal and started pouting. They got a couple slushees and it was time to go. On the way out I asked them if they had a good time. I got a half-hearted yeah out of Christian, and a definite NO out of Jackson. He still wasn’t over the unfairness of the clamp machine. In case anyone was wondering, I had a blast! Thanks so much for taking me. I’m planning the next trip for this weekend.
