My parent’s yard has flowers everywhere. Everything my mom touches blooms beautifully, and never dies, unless it is supposed to, then it is immediately replaced with something beautiful and blooming. I’m not like that. I’m not even close to like that…but that’s ok. I don’t have to be. My parents live down the road from me, and if I need to see, or photograph, or just be close to gorgeous flowers, I just have to walk down the street. My parents have a photography back-drop to die for. Keep in mind, this is by no means on the list of top 10 reasons I love having my parents down the street, but I just realized, it is a perk I hadn’t thought of.
When my parents moved here from the house I grew up in they left my mom’s Seven Sister’s roses behind. I was a little sad about this, because these things are just unbelievably gorgeous for a couple weeks in the spring. Well, it didn’t take too long for my mom to find something so similar to those roses, get Daddy to plant them in the ground, do whatever it is those plant growing freaks of nature do, and have them growing like crazy all over the place. So we are officially within the 2 week period that these babies shine. My pictures cannot do them justice. The sad thing is, this is only one tiny little thing in my parents yard that will knock your socks off, there are a zillion others, and well, that’s just the way they roll….
