We have been looking at property all over Mississippi to buy and use as a camp. Scott belongs to a duck camp, and while it is kid friendly, it isn’t wife friendly. No drinking and no wives. How did they even bring me into it I want to know. Trust me, bunk-beds and snoring men aside, I have absolutely NO desire to hop out of bed at 4:00 in the morning, go outsize in the butt-chapping cold, wade through rice fields in layers upon layers of camo, just to pull a gun on some poor unsuspecting duck who is just minding his own business trying not to freeze his feathers off anyway! I am certainly not going to eat one. I’m quite happy with the no drinking and no wives policy. I do, however, love the country. I love 4-wheelers and opens spaces. I love to fish, and I love the wild-life. I love camp-fires and grilling out. I love wives allowed and drinking optional. Most of all I LOVE being isolated and dragging my family along for the ride. Oh, and I love to take pictures of it all.
We’ve looked at a few, but every time something holds us back. No spot for a pond. Can’t find a good spot to build a camp. Can’t get power. Can get power, but will have to offer up our first-born to do so. I have had a picture in my mind of what I want all along, and I haven’t seen it. Today, I saw a version of it. It wasn’t perfect, but it was as close to that picture in my mind as I have seen. Tomorrow, Scott will be checking on the electricity situation. I have to be realistic, camp or not, I have got to have warm water and cool air. Oh, I am such the outdoorsman!
