Officially Back to School

20080811_0159School is all fun and games, until homework kicks in. Once that happens, the torture begins, and no one is safe. Just because I personally do not have homework anymore, does NOT mean that this kid’s homework doesn’t affect me. He can make it quick and painless, or drag it out and get some all over everyone within a half mile radius. Today was one of the good days. It was the first day he had homework this year, so he hasn’t remembered how much he hated it. I’m sorry to have to admit this, but I am so with him. Homework sucks. I know it’s necessary and all, but OMG, I hated when I was there, and I hate it still. I don’t mind helping, or checking, it’s just the whole stinkin‘ process. All I’m saying is, I don’t blame him, ya know? After he got done today, he came over to me looking all embarrassed and said, “Mom, doing homework was kind of fun today.” I almost fell out. Do you know how many days he whined for an hour over homework, which would have taken all of 20 minutes if he had just done it instead of whining? I know it’s wishful thinking, but I sure hope this attitude sticks. Maybe he can convert me.20080811_0165
