First Day Part 2

20090806_2087Okay, more of my boys on their first day. Jackson was a nice distraction for Christian. Watching over little brothers leaves little time for worry. He walked him to his class then went to his own. He only left him behind a little, and Jackson didn’t mind. He knew he’d make it.20090806_2090I didn’t cry, but at this point, watching my oldest enter this building for his last year and my youngest enter it for his first made my throat close up and my eyes sting. They are leaving me all day every day, and I consider home-schooling at least once an hour.20090806_2103They got off the bus excited, happy and tired. Christian never admits to liking school, so when he said it was better than usual, it was a good sign. Jackson was pretty closed-mouth about everything, and every detail had to be drug out of him. By 5:00 his eyes were rolling back in his head while he tried to hold a conversation. He made the mistake of laying down to watch TV at Maw Maw & Paw Paw’s and fell fast asleep. Kindergarten is proving to be exhausting! Christian happily announced that his teacher had given us homework and rushed outside to get as many hours of playing in before supper. It was a good start to what I hope to be a good year. That doesn’t mean I have completely written off the whole home-schooling idea. I miss my boys!20090806_2114
